My homemade shea whipped cream recipe

What is shea whipped cream?

Chantilly de Karité is a body and/or hair care product based on pure and unrefined shea butter, to which vegetable oils and essential oils may be added. A basic recipe to modify as desired according to the desired virtues. Shea butter is beaten to obtain the famous whipped cream. The texture is unctuous, creamy and easily penetrates the skin. A real protective and restorative treatment to pamper the whole family!

How to make your own shea whipped cream?

Nothing could be simpler, even if you are not a fan of do-it-yourself cosmetics. This recipe requires very few ingredients and the steps are very easy! You can even make it a time to share with your children. In 5 minutes flat you will get a pot of whipped cream ready to be spread on your body.

Utensils for preparing shea whipped cream

  • 1 bowl or salad bowl
  • 1 whisk or electric mixer
  • 1 empty jar

Ingredients to prepare the shea whipped cream

  • 80g unrefined shea butter
  • 20g coconut oil
  • 40g sweet almond oil
  • 8 drops vitamin E (optional)
  • 20 drops of aromatic vanilla extract (or more depending on the desired smell/optional)

Steps to prepare shea whipped cream

Soften (not melt) the shea butter and coconut oil. Add the sweet almond oil and put in the fridge for 10 minutes. Beat the cooled preparation with an electric mixer until you obtain a fairly stiff whipped cream. Place the mixture in the freezer for 1 to 2 minutes. Beat again to obtain a firm consistency. Finally, add the aromatic vanilla extract and put in a jar.

    Preserving homemade shea whipped cream

Vitamin E contained in shea butter serves as a natural preservative. It can thus be kept for 6 months away from light and heat. To keep it longer you can add a few drops of natural preservative.

Why and how to use shea whipped cream

This recipe allows you to benefit from the benefits of shea butter while having a creamy and airy texture allowing a more flexible and pleasant application than raw shea. It is an essential DIY especially in cold weather to pamper yourself. Dry and sensitive areas appreciate even more the nutrition and hydration provided by this small cloud of cream. The calming and regenerating virtues will do the greatest good for skin damaged by skin conditions such as ezema, psoriasis or acne. A few small hazelnuts heated in the palm of your hands are enough to take advantage of the repairing and protective benefits of the active ingredients present in this recipe accessible to all.

This treatment can be intended for many other uses such as hair care. Applied for 2-3 hours, this nourishing treatment will do your hair great good. Or to embellish gentlemen's beards.

The benefits of my personalized recipe

Shea butter is rich in vitamins A and E which have beneficial effects for the skin. It has a comedogenic rating of 0 which means it won't clog pores and lets her breathe. It intensely nourishes the skin, repairs it and protects it. Pure shea butter is suitable for all skin types, including the most sensitive. It can be used by everyone, pregnant women and newborns as well. It does not contain any allergens, except latex. Shea also cares for the hair.

Coconut oil is very nourishing and does not leave a greasy feel. It is also known for its anti-bacterial effect.

Sweet almond oil is nourishing, softening and very soothing. It calms itching and irritation. Its vitamin A composition improves the elasticity of the skin. It is ideal for all skin types.

      Cordialement.
