Today I'm showing you the treatment that helped me in my hair transition from chemical to natural. A natural ingredient found in the "world cuisine" department that has become my ally in improving the health of my hair. I named coconut milk.
- A bowl
- A heated cap or hot towel
- A swimming cap
- A brick of organic coconut milk (+50% coconut content)
In a bowl, pour the coconut milk briquette. Stir to have a homogeneous texture. Apply the preparation to the roots using a brush or with your fingers. Massage the scalp until the roots are well soaked. Stretch to cover lengths and ends. Do the wick to wick for an easier application. Cover your hair with a bathing cap (I'm not a fan of cellophane :s) then cover with a heated cap or a hot towel. In this treatment, heat is important to open the scales of the hair and activate all the benefits of coconut milk. The care can thus act in depth. Leave on for 3-4 hours.
Wash your hair with lukewarm water using your usual shampoo (preferably clean composition;)). 2 or 3 shampoos will be necessary to remove the sticky effect due to the fat of the coconut milk. Finish with cold water for even more shine. No need for conditioner, you risk weighing down your hair.
The mixture of grated coconut and water gives a fatty and very rich cream: coconut milk. We make sure to choose it organic to avoid making a mask with pesticides and with a content of more than 80% coconut, the rest being water and texture agents (eg agar agar or xanthan gum).
Coconut milk helps to find the true nature of the hair. This is why it is acclaimed during the hair transition from chemical to natural. Indeed, coconut milk helps to eliminate toxins contained in the hair (silicones, residues of chemical products...). It penetrates the hair fiber deeply to hydrate and repair in depth. Its benefits are multiple: activates hair growth and prevents hair loss, strengthens and adds volume, soothes the scalp, softens and detangles. It is suitable for all hair types.
This treatment is to be carried out as a cure so as not to suffocate the hair. Once a week for a maximum of 2 months per year.
Coconut milk disgorges colorings (chemical or natural) and henna.
Disinfect utensils used for preparation. Always test products on a small area of the body.
Once opened, coconut milk can be kept for 3-4 days in a cool place. For heating, use the flaxseed heating cap from my range, handmade in France:
